British Transport Police at Rail Live

Back

British Transport Police (BTP) are the national police force for the UK rail network, protecting the travelling public and supporting our rail operator partners to ensure everyone’s safety and security.

8.6 million people use the rail network every day and BTP’s mission is to help get people home safe, secure and on time.
Download the free ‘Railway Guardian’ app from the British Transport Police, that allows you to report crimes or concerns on the rail network, share your journeys with trusted contacts, and get access to news, guidance and support. Download it here:

Citizens in Policing

The Citizens in Policing team will be at Rail Live  talk about volunteering opportunities within BTP – including police support volunteers, cadet leaders or as a Special Constable. Come and speak to the team.

Firearms

Officers from the BTP’s Armed Policing Unit deploy across the rail network to disrupt and deter both terrorist and criminal activity. The team will be returning to this year’s Rail Live to showcase a selection of their equipment which includes firearms, less lethal devices and door entry apparatus. Officers will be available to discuss the role Armed Policing plays in enhancing station security around some of the nation’s busiest railway stations and will be demonstrating their search and detainment expertise.

Watch the BTP Firearms displays at 10:30am, 12:30 and 14:00.

Rail Live is returning for 2025! Stay up-to-date with any new announcements:
