OLE Rail network at Rail Live 2023

See some of the latest tools and equipment being used to maintain the OLE Rail network at Rail Live 2023, which takes place this week.

Horizon Utility Supplies, the supplier of insulated live line working tools, will be on stand L1, showcasing its products which are designed to aid linesmen to carry out daily maintenance tasks from ground level and to help negate the use of specialist road rail machines.

A range of Klauke crimping and safety cutters for both cables and overhead conductors will also be on display, as well as high voltage insulating products that help to mitigate animal or contaminant-induced flashover and Branach high-level access ladders and platform steps, incorporating the patented Terrain master stabilisation system and personal fall control device.

A spokesperson at Horizon Utility Supplies, said: “Visit our stand L1 to see demonstrations of innovative tools and equipment used to maintain OLE. We will be focusing on techniques using telescopic live line poles to carry out repairs, and inspections of OLE from ground level.

“Other products exhibited will include role signs, live line pole mounted remote control rotary torque wrench, pole mounter Bluetooth conductor tension verification device, pole mounted contact wire wear measuring tools, RRV mounted high voltage proximity detectors, high voltage silicone conductor insulation, the Horizon unique fibreglass ladder access system incorporating fall control and restraint, cutting and crimping tools, shear bolt wedge connectors and our bird guard twin contact wire anti flashover product.”

Rail Live, which takes place on June 21-22, attracts more than 5,000 rail professionals a year, representing all aspects of the rail industry.
